Mindfulness Skills
As part of our work with people affected by cancer, we have created a mindfulness booklet and recordings. Mindfulness is about learning to be in the present moment, and to notice and respond to unwanted thoughts and feelings in a new and different way.
Research indicates that mindfulness practice can be beneficial for people affected by cancer, and our own research project indicated people found mindfulness skills helpful in allowing them to cope with cancer. You can download the mindfulness booklet here and use alongside the recordings below. We hope these resources can be helpful to you whether you’re interested in mindfulness, waiting to start a talking therapy, or using this to support your current work with our service.
Our Information and Support Centre can be found on B Level within the Haematology and Oncology department, follow the green “Macmillan Centre” signs to us.
