Welcome to the Eye Department, we are committed to providing an excellent high-quality service to the patients, in the prevention and treatment of eye problems.
Our department comprises of adult and paediatric outpatient clinics, Eye Emergency Clinic (EEC), Eye Day Case Unit (EDCU) or theatres, pre-operative and post-operative assessment clinics and imaging clinics.
We have various dedicated teams including consultants, junior doctors, orthoptic team, optometrists, nursing team, imaging technicians, sight loss advisers and a clerical team.
There are external clinics to support the demand for the service.
We have the below services available in the department:
- Corneal problems
- Glaucoma
- Cataract
- Oculoplastic
- Retinal detachment
- Diabetic medical retina
- Other retinal diseases
- Age related macular degeneration
- Squint
- Eye injuries
- Other emergencies
The Eye Department is located on B Level at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
The paediatric service is within the Children's Department on A Level.
