We are keen to recruit volunteers to support the Macmillan Centre at Queen Alexandra Hospital. We are looking for people who can offer a warm, friendly welcome to visitors, deal with initial enquiries and listen to people’s concerns, without judging them and maintaining their privacy. We also have volunteers who provide more specialist services such as complementary therapies, counselling and hypnotherapy.

If you would be interested in volunteering in the centre please contact the number below for more information. We would like you to be able to commit to volunteering at least three hours a week. Full training will be given.

The centre offers support and information to people affected by cancer. We see an average of 80 visitors a day to provide information, welfare benefits advice, complementary therapies, counselling, emotional support or simply a quiet place to wait. We are open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm.

If you are interested and would like more details please contact us: 02392 283324 or e-mail: macmillan@porthosp.nhs.uk
