As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2025, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) is celebrating the success of its apprenticeship programme since the national programme begun in 2017. Entering its eighth year the Trust has supported an impressive 1,025 apprenticeship starts, with 538 apprentices completing their programmes and moving on to further their careers.

Residents of the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and South East Hampshire are reminded to use NHS 111 and community pharmacies for minor illnesses and injuries, particularly during the upcoming February half-term (17 February to 21 February).

Important information
We are seeing high numbers of people with norovirus. Please do not visit the hospital with diarrhoea or vomiting symptoms. Please stay at home, get plenty or rest and drink lots of fluids, more advice can be found on the NHS website. If your symptoms persist, visit NHS 111 online for more advice and support.
Temporary closure of the North Entrance at QA Hospital
The North Entrance at QA Hospital is currently closed. An alternative walk-in entrance is available by the B-level Haematology and Oncology Unit, but patients are encouraged to enter the hospital via the Main Entrance (accessible 24 hours a day) and East Entrance (7.45am to 9pm).
