Spades were poised at the ready to cut the sod as part of the next major milestone in the development of the new Emergency Department at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.

Our Emergency Department is for people with life-threatening injuries and illnesses. If you need urgent medical advice and aren't sure where is the best place for your symptoms, please visit NHS 111 Online.
Please note, the North Entrance at Queen Alexandra Hospital is currently closed. An alternative walk-in entrance is available by the B-level Haematology and Oncology Unit, but patients are encouraged to enter the hospital via the Main Entrance (accessible 24 hours a day) and East Entrance (7.45am to 9pm).
