We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hayley Peters as Chief Nurse for Isle of Wight NHS Trust (IWT) and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU).

Hayley is currently Chief Nurse at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and has a strong background in nursing. Hayley’s early professional career centred in critical care as an intensive care nurse.

Hayley said “I am delighted to be joining colleagues in the IWT and PHU and I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work with you in providing the best possible care to our patients and communities. Before my interview I had the opportunity to meet colleagues, talk with patients, and to tour some of your wards and departments, I was impressed with the professionalism, passion, and commitment to the highest standards of care.”

“I am passionate about developing the nursing, midwifery and allied health professional workforce and ensuring that everyone feels valued, heard and empowered to improve care for our patients.”

“This is an exciting time to join, and I am looking forward to building on the great work already underway to enhance the quality of care for patients and championing the voices of all colleagues across IWT and PHU.”
