The critical incident at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) has been stood down.
We are able to do this because of the hard work of our colleagues and partners. Whilst this is a positive step, our hospital is still incredibly busy and we are seeing a lot of patients coming to our Emergency Department.
Our teams are continuing to work hard to get loved ones home for Christmas and one of the most important things our community can do is to support us in that process, once the decision has been made that they are ready to be discharged from hospital.
We really need your help so that patients can get home from hospital as quickly as possible. This is key in supporting the flow of patients through the hospital and Emergency Department. For more information on how you can help get a loved one home, visit our ‘Ready to Go’ website page.
We also need your help to;
- Only attend the Emergency Department if you have a life-threatening injury or illness
- Please use NHS 111 online or visit your local pharmacy if you need medical advice over the Christmas period.
Thank you to our partners and community for your continued support during this challenging time and to our staff for their ongoing dedication to our patients
